God is still speaking, and so are our youth. The call to prioritize youth in the church has been heard. To that end, a Southern Conference United Church of Christ youth event has been planned, with an open invitation for persons in rising grades 6 – 12 (and graduating seniors) to gather in Charlotte NC. Lock in the dates – July 7-10, 2026 – for this gathering. It is being held at the Sonesta Lower South End, 5700 Westpark Drive, Charlotte NC.
Planners envision a festive setting prompting smiles, embracing arms, sharing songs, enjoying the pool, and rides at Carowinds. In the stretches during and between these times, imagine forming relationships with other youth, making new friends, experiencing discovery in workshops, sharing compassion through community projects, and embracing a dialogue around mindful topics and issues that matter.
As the event draws to a close, these experiences of relationship building and shared moments will open doors to a youth led closing and a pool party full of games, food and a DJ.
The event calls for fixing eyes, following paths, and framing faith. “It’s going to be fire!” say the prophets of this time.
